A woman accused in a human smuggling case could spend Thanksgiving in jail after Border Patrol agents found two illegal immigrants in the trunk of her car.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested Patricia Sosa on immigrant smuggling charges on Sunday.

Court records show that Sosa drove up to the Sarita checkpoint in a red Chevrolet Cobalt.

Sosa allegedly gave Border Patrol agents permission to search the trunk of her car.

The agents allegedly found two illegal immigrants inside.

Sosa allegedly told Border Patrol agents that she was getting paid $1,000 dollars to take the immigrants to Houston.

Court records show that Sosa appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Ronald Morgan in Brownsville on Tuesday.

Judge Morgan gave her a $20,000 bond and ordered she appear for a new hearing on Friday morning.

Court records show that Sosa had not posted bond as of Wednesday afternoon.
