Police on Tuesday rounded up 26 undocumented immigrants living in an abandoned home.

Brownsville police officer Billy Killebrew said police were watching a different house but spotted suspicious activity around 2 p.m. in a home at 4444 San Antonio Road.

They went inside the house and found 26 people, two females and 24 males. Killebrew said they are all adults.

The home was empty of furniture and in poor condition, he said. The people had been there for about two days, he said.

“It was empty, hot and in poor condition,” Killebrew said.

The case was turned over to Border Patrol.
