TX: Voter Fraud in Harris County?
Voter Fraud in Harris County?
Harris County officials are bringing allegations of major voter registration fraud against a Houston non-profit.

HOUSTON - Harris County Voter Registrar Leo Vasquez announced Tuesday that Houston Votes - a local non-profit organization that recruits voters - turned in more than 5,000 fraudulent voter registration applications.
"The integrity of the voter role of Harris County Texas appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes," Vasquez said.
Vasquez said some of the problems include multiple applications for the same person, applications for people already registered, incomplete applications, applications from non-U.S. citizens and several from people too young to vote.
"We have evidence indicating violation of the Texas Election Code, falsified documents being submitted to this office and possible violations of federal election laws," said Vasquez.
Houston Votes admits volunteers could have submitted some faulty applications. However, organizers said if any deficiencies occurred, they were not on purpose.
"If someone was signed up fraudulently, whoever did it was terminated," Houston Votes Director Sean Caddle said.
But Vazquez said the problems go right to the organization's top management.
"Volunteer Deputy Sean Caddle has submitted 23 incomplete [applications], 37 pre-existing voters, two underage and numerous duplicate applications," Vazquez said.
The allegations first came from True the Vote, a Houston voter watchdog group.
"[We are] just a concerned group of citizens," said Catherine Engelbrecht with True the Vote.
Voting investigators said there are thousands of fraudulent voter registrations floating around Harris County.
"We were stunned, but now that we know what exists to not do anything would make us complicit in it. So we've got to keep after it," Engelbrecht said.
Vasquez said he will refer this case to the Harris County Attorney and Secretary of State. It will be their decision whether to press charges.

I hope that there will be a thorough investigation. If they find this group or individuals have been intentionally registering fraudulent voters or any other type of tampering then they ought to take these idiots out back and hang them!
At the very least photos of these people ought to be posted and let the public deal with them.

I bet the number would be staggering if we actually knew how many dogs, dead people and illegal invaders were voting in our elections! How can a system based almost entirely on the honor system not be infiltrated by these corrupted, anti-American groups, who will do anything to get those that support their lawlessness elected.
This is why these groups oppose vehemently voter id laws in this country.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Maybe 2 or 3 fraudulent voters might happen but FIVE THOUSAND ??? Give me a break !!
I hope all states/counties are checking voter registration but I doubt it."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson

Warehouse blaze still a mystery
Officials still investigating cause of fire that destroyed voting devices

A day after a fire destroyed virtually all of Harris County's electronic voting gear, officials were still determining the cause of the warehouse blaze and furiously exploring ways to accommodate voters come early November.
Houston's fire marshal's office hasn't made a ruling on whether Friday's early-morning fire was accidental or deliberately set, said Harris County Clerk Beverly Kaufman, who hopes to hear something on the cause early this week.
"It would break my heart to think someone would do something like this to the election process," she said, adding that she was unaware of anyone who might have had a motive to burn down the building.
Houston Fire Department officials did not return phone calls on Saturday.
The building in the 600 block of Canino on the city's north side did have a sprinkler system, but Kaufman said she was unsure if it was properly functioning or if there might have been any failures.
The three-alarm blaze broke out in the 28,000-square-foot warehouse just after 4 a.m., destroying some 10,000 pieces of election gear housed there.
The total loss was valued at about $40 million — $30 million in voting equipment and $10 million for the building, said Kaufman.
The machines were set to supply nearly 800 polling sites for early voting, which begins Oct. 18.
"I'm sure glad this coming election is not a presidential election," said Kaufman.
Kaufman said she and the office's election administrator, John German, are focusing on figuring out where 15 to 30 staff members will report for work, what the county needs to hold the election and how to execute and pay for the plan. The office is exploring whether to borrow machines from counterparts across the state, among other possibilities.
Harris County Commissioners Court will meet in an emergency session Monday to receive the county clerk's proposed recovery plan.
Joe Stinebaker, spokesman for Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, said Saturday he hasn't a clue whether the financial needs will be minor or major. County reserve funds may be available for the expense, Stinebaker said.

Wow! Takes a long time to set up those machines and train people to operate them. What a shame.
