    Professors: Arizona law passes constitutional test

    A panel of three law professors discussing Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law Thursday at UCSD concurred that the law could well pass constitutional muster, although violations could occur as police officers enforce it.

    The measure was signed into law last month by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. Among other things, it empowers local police to check a person’s immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion the person is in the country illegally and forbids agencies from adopting so-called “sanctuaryâ€

    When the smoke clears I hope AZ sues all the boycotting cities for free trade violations.

    Heard this discussed on a talk radio station and was disappointed because it was said if the feds (Holder) steps in and challenges this it would stop the law from being enacted. This process could take who knows how long? Of course, in the end the law could be found to be constitutional, it was the long drawn out process that bothered me. This is what I heard, doesn't mean it is right.
