U.S. agents arrest Dominican with fake papers; seize guns

SAN JUAN.– Jose Altagracia Brito-Beato, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, made an initial appearance today before US District Magistrate Judge Marcos Lopez, facing charges for fraudulent use of documents.

The criminal complaint read to the defendant specifies a violation to Title 18, United States Code; Section 1546, which typifies the use, possession and procurement of fraudulent documents.

On Saturday, Mr. Brito-Beato was approached by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers during pre-flight inspection of a Jet Blue flight to Orlando, FL from the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.

Mr.Brito-Beato, presented a Puerto Rico drivers license and a Social Security card, claiming to be “Guillermo Sierra-Roman.â€
