U.S. attorney: Border violence would be met with swift justice

While some residents of border communities, such as San Luis, Ariz., and Yuma, might worry that the violence in Mexico could spill over into Arizona, Dennis Burke, U.S. attorney for the District of Arizona, thinks such a scenario is unlikely.

Burke noted the main cause of drug-related violence, battles between cartels, which are common in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, which borders El Paso, Texas, and other Mexican border cities, isn't such a problem in the neighboring Mexican state of Sonora.

“Cartel activity is pretty stable in Sonora,â€
