U.S. Border Patrol Agents Arrest 2 Convicted Criminals

McAllen, TX ─ U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen Station arrested two illegal aliens Monday, who have prior convictions for violent crimes.

The first man was arrested early Monday morning as part of a group of 26 illegal aliens apprehended near McAllen. During processing at the station, agents discovered one of the members of the group had previously been imprisoned for rape.

The second convicted criminal was arrested later that day as part of a group of 15 illegal aliens apprehended near Palmview, Texas. While conducting a records check, agents learned the man had been convicted of attempted murder.

“The Border Patrol is an agency that protects our nation and communities from all threats, whether it is terrorists, drug smugglers or other criminals,” Chief Patrol Agent Rosendo Hinojosa said. “Due to the hard work and dedication of our agents, these violent criminals were unable to pose a threat to our communities.”

The illegal aliens and the two convicted criminals will be processed accordingly.
