    Border Patrol agents seized over 16,310 pounds of marijuana. Agents arrested 13 criminal aliens and 9 gang members. There were 3 rocking incidents.

    *This overview is compiled from incidents reported to the Office of Border Patrol and is not intended to reflect all Border Patrol enforcement actions. Most arrests and seizures fail to meet the requirements for mandatory reporting to the Office of Border Patrol.

    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,789 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Sarita, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A physical search by agents revealed the marijuana inside.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,550 pounds of marijuana in Hidalgo, Texas. Agents were responding to suspicious activity near the international border when they discovered the abandoned marijuana. No arrests were reported.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ajo, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for molestation of a child in the state of California and he had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ventana, Arizona. During processing, the subject claimed two armed bandits robbed him after he had illegally entered the United States. There were no reported injuries.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,478 pounds of marijuana and recovered a Dodge truck and Ford truck near Stanfield, Arizona. Agents were responding to suspicious activity when they located two abandoned vehicles. The vehicles, which had both been reported stolen out of the state of Arizona, were covered with tarps in an effort to conceal their location. Agents discovered the marijuana in the vehicles. No arrests were reported.

    Detroit Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested three illegal aliens near Detroit, Michigan. While agents made the arrests, one of the subjects, an illegal alien from Mexico, assaulted an agent. In order to stop the assault, agents deployed an electronic control device on the subject, and he was taken into custody without further incident. Records checks on the subject revealed he was a Florencia 13 gang member.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Naco, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member and had a prior conviction for possession/purchase of cocaine and spousal abuse. He had also previously been removed from the United States.

    Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Eagle Pass, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for indecency with a child with sexual contact in the state of Texas, and had previously been removed from the United States.


    Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a small amount of marijuana, a loaded .380 caliber handgun, a 2002 Hyundai XG 350 and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and agents discovered the marijuana. A subsequent search revealed the handgun located on the driver side floorboard.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,539 pounds of marijuana near Havana, Texas. A Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine asset observed a vehicle drive into the Rio Grand River in an attempt for the driver to abscond. Personnel on four rescue boats were then observed attempting to extricate suspected narcotics from the vehicle. However, they were unsuccessful. Agents on the ground located the partially submerged vehicle and removed the narcotics from the bed and interior of the vehicle. During the encounter, a Border Patrol vehicle was disabled from home made spikes that had been thrown on the road. Additionally, a number of armed subjects were observed on the Mexican side of the riverbank, but agents reported no altercations.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 229 pounds of marijuana, a 2003 Jeep Wrangler and trailer, and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Tubac, Arizona. The subjects presented themselves for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A physical search by agents revealed the marijuana inside the trailer.

    Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a small amount of marijuana, an unloaded handgun, a Ford F-250 truck and arrested four USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. The subjects presented themselves for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A search revealed the contraband and weapon inside the vehicle.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,162 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Nicaragua at the checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A scan using non-intrusive inspection techniques revealed anomalies in the trailer and a physical search by agents revealed the marijuana.


    San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,396 pounds of marijuana, a panga-style boat and arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near San Diego, California. Agents were responding to suspicious activity concerning possible narcotics smuggling when they discovered the marijuana hidden in a cave. The two subjects attempted to abscond but were interdicted by the U.S. Coast Guard.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Miguel, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Sureno 13 gang member, and records checks revealed he had a lengthy criminal history.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents reported that two narcotics smugglers were assaulting agents with rocks near San Miguel, Arizona. In an attempt to stop the threat, an agent discharged multiple rounds from his M-4 service rifle. The two illegal aliens from Mexico who were assaulting the agent were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and agents seized 99 pounds of marijuana at the scene.

    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject is a convicted sex offender and had previously been removed from the United States.


    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ocotillo, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 in the state of California and had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Casa Grande, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject was a Sureno 13 gang member and had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Cowlic, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Latin Kings gang member. Records checks revealed he had a prior conviction for statutory rape in the state of Georgia.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Sureno gang member and records checks revealed he had an extensive criminal history.

    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents reported the rescue of eight illegal aliens from Mexico near Niland, California. Agents had received information that the subject were lost in the desert and were able to locate the group. Two of the subjects required further medical treatment and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near La Grulla, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being an MS-13 gang member and records checks revealed he had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for manslaughter in the state of Arizona and had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 198 pounds of marijuana and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. An agent was responding to suspected narcotics smuggling when an unidentified individual assaulted him and subsequently absconded to Mexico. Another subject assaulted the agent and actively resisted arrest, so the agent had to deploy his electronic control device in order to stop the assault. Both the agent and the illegal alien were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Casa Grande, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 in the state of Kentucky and had previously been removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 247 pounds of marijuana, a Ford truck and arrested a USC following a vehicle stop near Sasabe, Arizona. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents revealed the marijuana.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,589 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Benson, Arizona. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the conveyance. A scan using non-intrusive inspection techniques revealed anomalies in the trailer and a physical search by agents revealed the marijuana.

    This only proves that our immigration efforts are a complete joke ... not only must we renforce the border , but we MUST actively round up and deport as many as we can ....

    furthemore , we must imprison or find an effective way to punish these crimnals so that they never dare set foot in the united states again ...
