U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter (10/05/2011)

Border Patrol agents seized more than 34,829 pounds of marijuana and 107 pounds of cocaine. Agents arrested 21 criminal aliens and 15 gang members. There were three rocking incidents.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Hebbronville, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and had been previously removed from the United States.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,395 pounds of marijuana, a truck, a flatbed trailer, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Zapata, Texas.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 107.48 pounds of cocaine, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Pine Valley, California. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,662 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen truck near Gu Vo, Arizona. Agents responded to a report of suspicious activity and discovered the abandoned vehicle containing the marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Cowlic, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang who had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,269 pounds of marijuana and a truck in Palominas, Arizona. Agents observed two vehicles near the international border and responded to investigate. When they approached, one of the vehicles fled into Mexico. The marijuana was discovered in the second vehicle, which had been abandoned.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the White Fence gang, which is affiliated with the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions in the state of California for transportation of a controlled substance and robbery, and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 28,313 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Westmorland, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the trailer. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Miami, Florida. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Florida for robbery with a weapon.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,184 pounds of marijuana, a sport utility vehicle, and arrested a USC near Weslaco, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had an active warrant of arrest issued in the state of Texas for failure to appear for criminal mischief.

Detroit Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Sandusky, Ohio. Records checks revealed the subject had an active warrant of arrest issued in the state of Indiana for attempted murder and aggravated assault. The subject had also been previously ordered removed from the United States.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Laredo, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the MS-13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Roma, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the MS-13 gang who had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions in the state of Missouri for sexual assault and possession of a controlled substance. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near La Joya, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the commonwealth of Virginia for carnal knowledge of a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Topawa, Arizona. Records checks revealed that both subjects were convicted sex offenders and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had two prior felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Delhi gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including a prior conviction for voluntary manslaughter, and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Granjeno, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Texas for aggravated sexual assault against a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Naco, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Maryland for a sex offense against a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Washington for burglary and an active warrant of arrest issued in Washington for possession of stolen property, eluding law enforcement, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and driving without a license. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.

Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Guatemala near North Lauderdale, Florida. Record checks revealed that both subjects were members of the MS-13 gang with extensive criminal histories.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Kingsville, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior felony conviction in the state of Washington for kidnapping and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Mission, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Nevada for lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and had been previously removed from the United States.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 198 pounds of marijuana, a vehicle, and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Eagle Pass, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had an active warrant of arrest issued in the state of Texas for assault with a deadly weapon.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Border Brothers gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for prostitution and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Indio, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual battery and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,992 pounds of marijuana and an abandoned truck in a remote area near Patagonia, Arizona. The marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.
