U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector Apr. 12 – Apr. 18
(Monday, April 23, 2012)
Blaine, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to CBP U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.
04/13/2012 – U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended a citizen of Pakistan, who was found to be illegally in the United States, in Blaine, Washington. The subject was placed under arrest, transported to the station for further investigation and processed for removal.
04/13/2012 – Agents took custody of a citizen of Mexico who had an immigration detainer and was being released from the Skagit County Detention Center. The individual had been arrested and convicted of being an alien in Possession of a Firearm (RCW 9.41.171). The subject was placed under arrest by U.S. Border Patrol agents and processed for removal.
04/16/2012 – Agents arrested two citizens of Mexico illegally present in the United States who were encountered in close proximity to the U.S. – Canada border west of Sumas, Washington. The subjects had attempted to hide in the woods to avoid detection. Both individuals admitted to having just entered into the United States from Canada illegally and were processed for removal.
04/18/2012 – An agent responded to a request for assistance from a Blaine Police officer in Blaine, Washington who was on a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was cited and released by the police officer for a criminal violation and several traffic infractions. The individual admitted to being a citizen of Mexico illegally present in the United States. The agent placed the subject under arrest and during processing it was determined that the subject had given the police a false name and had been in fact previously removed from the United States. The subject also had a prior arrest for Driving under the Influence. The subject was processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
