U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector Jan. 23 – Jan. 30

Blaine, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

01/23/2012 – Agents patrolling the border north of Lynden encountered a man hiding in a berry field. The individual, a citizen of India, admitted to the agents that he had illegally entered the United States. The subject was arrested and processed for removal.

01/23/2012 – Remote Video Surveillance System operators observed two individuals illegally cross the border into the United States east of Blaine. Responding agents encountered the two individuals who admitted to having just illegally entered the United States. One subject was a citizen of Canada and the other, a citizen of the Philippines, had legal Landed Immigrant status in Canada. Both subjects were arrested, processed for removal, and returned to Canada.

01/25/2012 – Agents patrolling the border near Sumas, observed a subject carrying a backpack abscond into the woods near the Northwood Casino. After a brief foot pursuit, responding agents located two subjects hiding in a wooded area near the border. Both subjects were found to be illegally present in the United States and were arrested. One subject, a citizen of Mexico, had been previously removed from the United States in 2009. This subject was processed for reinstatement of a prior removal. The other subject, a citizen of Columbia, was found to be in violation of the terms of his visa and was processed for removal.

01/26/2012 – Agents near Blaine responded to a call for assistance from the Blaine Police Department. While assisting, agents encountered two citizens of Mexico who admitted to being illegally present in the United States. Both subjects were arrested and processed for removal.

01/27/2012 – RVSS operators observed two individuals near the border area on the beach west of Blaine. Responding agents encountered two subjects attempting to hide among the rocks on the beach. Both subjects, citizens of Honduras, admitted to being illegally present in the United States. Both subjects were arrested and processed for removal. Both had criminal histories and had been previously ordered removed from the United States.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
