    what is probably really happening is that border crossings are dropping because the potential illegals are too afraid to try to cross because of the crime on the border.

    SO, they probably want to clean it up, so that no potential illegal border crosser would consider "staying home". That's what I think.

    meet on border violence

    Why the 'closed door meeting' between US and Mexican officials only. Shouldn't someone be there to represent us? I know that Bush, and Condi Rice, certainly dont have our best interests covered. I just get the feeling that things will be decided for us, whether we like it or not.
