    Press OB Counteroffensive

Is it just me today or does it seem as if the press and Open Border type powerbrokers just launched an all out counteroffensive against any type of immigration law enforcement and those wanting the law enforced?
Just scroll down the first few pages of "News Stories from ALIPAC Members" forum and notice 99% are negative attack type articles versus the normal 80/20 split we seem to normally have.

They (Big-Business) are getting scared of the possible result of the next election and are resorting to "1984, Orwellian" P/R propaganda tactics to try to alter public opinion.

I think the msm or every day press has just not started reporting our side honstly and correctly but we still have a few spoofs or those that have to reprt what the Boss tells them.

One thing I have noticed in a big increase in the alearts i get from law makers and immigration issues

Just a ton of new web sites most of them nothing but I mean just a ton of new guys out there

Maybe it was just me but as I scrolled down this morning reading headlines almost all seemed very slanted and negative.

Those of us who follow guestworker visa issues noticed a gigantic seeding of the press with stories sympathetic to them shortly before legislative proposals to increase the H-1B were proposed. It's not an accident, some of these groups hire well-heeled lobbying firms. They also have grassroots teams pushing their side as much as we do. It's not your imagination.

A little side note here for all of you. My wife and daughter, finally, after 4 years, received their official, legal green cards yesterday in the mail. I brought the mail into the house and let her open them. And she had tears in her eyes while she was doing it. For me it is a moment that I will remember, because she has wanted to be an American for a long time and has gone through a lot to achieve it.

And the reason she had to wait so long is that around the end of 1999 they increased the H-1B cap - just about trippled it. And many of those people were pinning their hopes on the H-1B thinking to use it as an immigration visa, to piggyback upon a green card after a few years. So, if the pipeline to legal immigration like your wife took seems slow and clogged, those folks are why. We can't figure out why the government wanted to triple the guestworkers just as the mass layoffs of us were starting, but the yearly cap didn't fall back until 2003. My congratulations to your wife and daughter. Their wait should have been shorter.

What an incredible moment, congratulations to all of you!

I am so sorry, as a voting American, that it took so long.
I don't care who you are, how you got here, what color you are, what language/dialect you speak... If you didn't get here legally then you don't belong here. Period.
