Obama: Immigration overhaul is essential

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Obama says he is committed to a comprehensive immigration overhaul that includes a way that illegal immigrants can become U.S. citizens.
Obama told a gathering of Hispanics on Friday that U.S. borders must be strengthened to thwart illegal immigration.

He said the millions of people who are now in the U.S. illegally should have the chance to become citizens. He said they must pay a fine and taxes, learn English and "go to the back of the line" of people trying to enter the United States from their home country.

He said employers should not be allowed to exploit illegal immigrants to drive down wages.

Obama made his remarks at the Esperanza National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference.

He said the millions of people who are now in the U.S. illegally should have the chance to become citizens. He said they must pay a fine and taxes, learn English and "go to the back of the line" of people trying to enter the United States from their home country.

To me that doesn't sound bad as long as they have to return to their home country and wait to come back the right legal way. But Obama never means or does what he said anyway and this will probably be a backdoor amnesty!

He said they have to go to the back of the line, not leave the country. These illegals don't want citizenship, they just want to get to stay here, and that's what Obama would give them.

Exactly. They want our money and free benefits at our expense. Then they can retire to Mexico, collect social security and live like the rich folks.

This is the same kinda crapola that was in the last two amnesty attempts that the american people said NO WAY IN HELL.

What is the use of stregthening borders to stop illegal immigration when ALL illegal aliens in the country get amnesty? After that stupid remark, many more illegal aliens will try to get here. Without enforcement nothing will work EVER!

You are exactly right, this is from barakobama.com:

"Obama and Biden support a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens."

In other words it is just like the Bush/Kennedy amnesty. They are saying "go to the back of the CITIZENSHIP line", which is inside the USA!

Yeah I totally understand what they are pulling I guess I should have clarified that I do support Illegals doing it the right way but i believe that they HAVE to return to their country and wait in the back of the line before being eligible to return. Plus the fines and assimilation, but we all know that its a monkeys butt in hell of that happening.
