HOLLAND — The Ottawa County Prosecutor's office has issued charges stemming from a fatal car-motorcycle crash Wednesday.

Rodrigo Delacruz, 25, was arraigned Thursday in 58th District Court in Holland on a charge of failing to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death, a 15-year felony.

Delacruz was traveling south on Butternut Drive at around 8 p.m. when he turned left onto eastbound Riley Street and into the path of a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by William O'Brien, 52, according to Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

O'Brien was pronounced dead at the scene.

Immigration officials were contacted and a hold was placed on Delacruz's deportation for being an illegal immigrant, police said. Delacruz did not have a driver's license while in the states.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash.
