The following information was released by the Michigan House of Representatives, the Republicans:

Three terrorism experts today delivered an excellent presentation to both chambers of the Legislature, concerning very viable threats to national security and measures the states can use to protect its citizens.

State Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, attended the presentation and was impressed with the range of expertise and relevance of the topic.

"The discussion reinforces the importance of stopping illegal immigration because of the negative effects it has on homeland security within the state of Michigan and the greater United States," Agema said.

Agema has sponsored a number of measures in the state House aimed at protecting Michigan borders from illegal immigration.

"I hope the presentation was helpful in educating my colleagues about the importance of beefing up and guarding our borders," Agema said. "There are severe significant risks associated with illegal immigration, and as today's speakers highly reiterated, one of those risks is the spread of extremist terrorism."

An audio recording of the presentation will be available next week.
