Undocumented students can't receive government financial aid
http://www.eyewitnessnewstv.com/Global/ ... 5&nav=F2DO
BOSTON A published report says dozens of undocumented immigrants are among the 14-thousand high school students being offered free tuition to Massachusetts state colleges.
The students received letters this month from Governor Romney telling them that because of their high M-CAS scores, they had qualified for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship.
The head of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition says at least 30 undocumented students recieved the letters and must now be told that they do not qualify for the scholarships.
Federal law prohibits government financial aid for such students.
A Romney spokesman says the scholarship letters are based solely on the students' M-CAS scores. Only when the students attempt to cash in on the scholarship can the state find out that they are illegal.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
