US Border Patrol, Homeland Security Seize $400K from Cash Smuggler

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The United States Border Patrol and Department of Homeland Security announced the seizure of $400,000 from a cash smuggler last Friday.

A press release says Luis Cordero was sentenced to 25 months in prison for bulk cash smuggling.

The U.S. Border Patrol presented checks from the forfeited funds to the Franklin County VT Sheriff's Office, Warren County NY Sheriff's Office, and the South Burlington VT Police Department.

Cordero was arrested on Friday, January 9.
