I think one of the largest powers the C of C has is difficult to offset. That is retail employees mind manipulation done by employers , of course. A lot of influence when an employer says, "I hope the election turns out to be John Peter Doe winning. If he doesn't win I may not be in business next year." Who will the single mother with 3 kids or the single retiree trying to raise two grandchildren going to vote for when that is told to them. The employer in the USA employing one million plus uses that line every election. That is just one retail employer. Want to boycott, boycott that employer headquartered out of Arkansas. But, a lot of people need that poor paying job. They can't tell employees who to vote for, but they can talk about possible consequences to the company. Just another danger in "too big to fail."

When we stopped supporting the home town merchant, we began surrendering our powers.!
