US: Illegals Leaving More Than Arizona

    Illegals Leaving More Than Arizona

It's not just Arizona. Illegal aliens are across the United States are starting to pack their bags as a crackdown on undocumented immigrants widens and the U.S. economy slows:

In the past year, U.S. immigration police have stepped up workplace sweeps across the country and teamed up with a growing number of local forces to train officers to enforce immigration laws.

Meanwhile, a bill seeking to offer many of the 12 million illegal immigrants a path to legal status was tossed by the U.S. Congress, spurring many state and local authorities to pass their own measures targeting illegal immigrants.

The toughening environment has been coupled with a turndown in the U.S. economy, which has tipped the balance toward self deportation for many illegal immigrants left struggling to find work.

No one knows how many illegal aliens have already left the United States, but Mexican consular officials report a spike in the number of immigrants applying for Mexican citizenship for their U.S.-born children in order to enroll them in Mexican schools.

Like I said the other day, attrition by enforcement works. When illegal aliens don't have jobs, they don't stick around.

I would love to see some numbers. Just how many are applying for documentation to return?

I think you are also going to see a sharp spike in crime for 2 reasons

1 - thats how the poor survive when it gets bad.

2 - It's a free ticket home with deportation if they get caught

as the phrase goes on my favorite Christmas special "A Christmas Story" when the dad is changing the flat tire "Dad Gummit Blob"

Bad choice! Free ticket & depending on the crime, reduced sentencing for non-violent offenses BUT they will have a record with ICE so they're getting finger-printed, etc. The war on illegals is a tough one. I like those "reverse" immigration stops they're doing on the borders and I don't think they should stop there.

They've been sending money home for a long time. If they don't get caught and their name comes up on the lotteries, then they can apply because we have no knowledge. Another factor is that if they are willing to commit a crime to get a free ticket home, they are stupid as well as eliminating themselves from receiving approval for a possible future application to enter the U.S.

Bitter and sweet at the same time.

Somehow I don't believe this. One out of three cars I look at in Matthews, North Carolina one is slammed filled with hispanics.

I think this might be another ploy by some governmental agency to make us believe the Dept. of Homeland Insecurity is doing their job.

    I don't buy it...

    I agree with you Diane.

More work of the President Calderon and Consulates' propaganda machine
to make us feel sorry for them and "neutralize" our opinions about illegals.

I would remind all that illegals aren't only from Mexico or Central America. They could like like any of us posting here.
