In Chicago, police can only contact INS

Chicago became a sanctuary city in March 2006 by an Executive Mayoral Order -- one of an estimated 32 across the country, including New York, Seattle and the oldest, (1979) Los Angeles.

According to Monique Bond, spokeswoman for Chicago Police Department, officers can only contact INS during the course of an investigation when an offender declares illegal immigration status.

"Under federal law, enforcement of immigration law rests with the INS and not with local police. Chicago Police do not stop-and-question, detain or arrest any person that is not suspected of committing a crime or based solely on the grounds that the person may be an illegal immigrant. Chicago Police provide police service to all persons in the City of Chicago, regardless of their citizenship status."

Daley is a jerk! I would be willing to do just about anything to help remove him from office! Hopefully he will be indicted in the Hired Truck Scandel. He has no regard for the LEGAL citizens who unfortunately put him in office. I know where he lives and the only Mexicans that are around are the ILLEGAL ALIENS he has cutting grass in his neighborhood. You can bet they are on the city pay roll. He has the City of Chicago 217.7 million dollars in debt. Chicago Public schools are overcrowded and he keeps building more forcing the LEGAL citizens to pay for them by raising property taxes! He stopped airline employees from sharing houses, calling them crash pads, and deemed that they were against city codes. Yet he permits 20 nasty ILLEGAL ALIENS to live in single family homes. Airline employees need to file a discrimination complaint against Daley and the City of Chicago! He has let Chicago turn into a third world slum, and he believes the Olympics should be held here! I believe his father Richard Daley is turning over in his grave over his support of ILLEGAL ALIENS and total disregard for the LEGAL tax paying citizens. Also I know a couple Chicago Policeman and they have stated most of them would welcome the 287g due to the abundance of Hispanic gangs that torment the west side. I wonder when the last time he visited these neighborhoods. He should be deported with the ILLEGAL ALIENS he let ruin the city! Any one who has any ideas please contact me.
