US Latinos Mistrust Bush Migration Plan
Washington, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) Leaders of the US Latino community received the President George W. Bush project to reform the migratory system with a grain of salt Wednesday.
According to California daily La Opinion, the leaders appeared cautious and skeptical upon learning the president s initiative to contain and regulate entrance of non-documented people into the country.
During his State of the Nation address yesterday, the president demanded tighter control of the country s southern border, and stiffer sanctions on companies employing illegal immigrants..
Bush also called for Congress to create a temporary worker program and to define requirements before foreigners receive permanent residence.
For Mexican Latin American Brotherhood leader Nativo Lopez, Bush words are only more of the same, because they continue the line that sparked a wave of protests by the Latino population last year.
Lopez declared the presidential project would mean the deportation of millions of people and create programs of guest workers who would not be able to obtain permanent legal status.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn
