No Habla Ingles? The DNC says 'No Problema'

No Habla Ingles? The DNC says 'No Problema'

This year's Democratic National Convention in Denver will have an international flavor, but not everyone is happy about that.

Party officials say they're simulcasting the entire convention in Spanish.

Al Garza is the Executive Director of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.
He says he's of Hispanic descent, and he's outraged. "I speak English, and I don't watch anything in Spanish... This is a nation that was founded and based on English."

But Damon Jones with the Democratic National Convention says they're doing it for good reason. "Spanish is the primary language for more than 35-million people in our country and more than 300-million people around the world. So, we think it's a great message to share and a great step forward at being as inclusive as possible."

Garza counters that the democrats should focus instead on the second and third generation Hispanic population, who assimilated into society. He says if we do this for the Hispanic population, we're starting down a slippery slope. "We shouldn't be pandering to a community per se based on ethnicity... If we're all going to play the same game, then why shouldn't we have stations in German, in Chinese, for that matter in Italian; and I happen to be part Italian, so I resent it."

Jones says they're just trying to share the message of the Democratic Party with as many people as possible.

There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

This is one American who will NOT be watching EITHER convention...or VOTING for any presidential candidate! Unlike Michelle Obama...this is the FIRST time that I have been completely ashamed of my country!!!
As far as I'm concerned, both parties can fight over the hispanic vote...I only wish every AMERICAN would express their outrage by writing "None of the Above" on their ballot!

    americanme---

Please do not write none of the above---investigate other possibilities (Bob Barr , Chuck Baldwin, Ralph Nader, Misterbill (just thought I would see if I could slip that last one by you.)
I do believe the disenchantment with both candidates provides the best chance a 3rd party ever had. As of tonight's news, Obama is ahead in the surveys.
    Please do consider it!!!

PS Rest assured I will be watching reruns or sports while the ***** are duking it out!!!!!!
