    UT Lawmakers Battle Illegal Immigration

All I can say is ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME UT GOT IN THIS.
But like so many other towns, our lawmakers are being part of the problem and not the solution. Time to flush the toilet.

Lawmakers Battle Illegal Immigration, Claims of Racism
    January 23rd, 2007 @ 11:50am
    Andrew Adams reporting

As Lawmakers try to tackle illegal immigration, they're battling claims of racism.

Lawmakers want an audit to see how much undocumented kids are costing public schools. One lawmaker is proposing that officers and state troopers be given immigration enforcement authority to make arrests during traffic stops.

Proyecto Latino de Utah director Tony Yapias says he doesn't like the motives.

Tony Yapias: "It's nothing but pure intimidation. They are going to the point of being racist. I don't know any other way to look at it."

Latino community leaders are not alone in their opposition. Attorney General Mark Shurtleff says making troopers into immigration and customs agents is bad for public safety

    Utah and illegals

I really don't care about Utah for the most part. The state along with with CA has been supporting illegals for years. Now they are worried and want American taxpayers to pay. Sorry Utah but fix your problem.

Well gee becky, that's a little rough. With that kind of attitude, nothing will get fixed.
You're missing the bigger picture here. It isn't just UT or CA, its the entire United States.
Believe it or not, we have just as many illegal problems as any other state, but with our media here it doesn't seem to make big news unless something really bad happens.
