UT: Pro-Illegals Plays Dirty BY Going After Missionaries

Group wants Mexico to suspend visas for LDS missionaries

    By Pat Reavy

SALT LAKE CITY -- A small group of Latino Utah residents wants the president of Mexico to suspend the visas of Mormon missionaries until The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints takes a stronger stand on the immigration issue.

"We have made our position clear on the Utah Compact and on the immigration issue." -LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter
Raúl López-Vargas says he has collected about 100 signatures on a petition that he plans to deliver to the Mexican Consulate of Salt Lake City on Monday. He is calling for Mexican President Felipe Calderón to sit down with the leaders of the LDS Church and ask them to take a concrete position on immigration.

Comment: if they can't play fair, they play dirty. Anyone surprised?
The Mormon Church position should be: obey the law or get out instead of pandering to them. These illegals know that if the Church admonishes its members to obey the laws of the land (One of its core doctrines) then Mexico will kick out all the American missionaries. Again, it's all about Mexican illegals and THEIR wants and needs. Who's fed up with this crap?
In essence, this group is trying to blackmail the Mormon Church.

This is the risk all missionaries face when they go to other countries. Philippines and indonesia are other areas where missionaries are livingin constant danger. Churches need to realize that the missionaries cannot be used to swaycommitments and beliefs. The Mormon and catholic church need to realize that legal immigrants are very welcome here but it does not mean they need to support illegals to break the law coming here illegally. There has to be strict and unwavering policy from the churches and the congregations concerning the illegal v/s legal people. Churches need to do the right thing by setting the example to support coming here legally and also rejecting the latino communities stance that illegals are ok to live here.

You're are very right. Sadly, that's NOT what churches do. For example, the Mormon Church has a very clear doctrine that's nearly 175 years old and it says:

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

I just went through this at a judiciary committee meeting, the states expert witness was head of the churches here!
When I e-mailed her and explained she was committing a Federal Crime and that I was sending her testimony along with the federal laws she was breaking to the judiciary committee and the Legislative Research Commission, well I havn't heard back yet but I'd say it's all a buzz around the office!

True Christians will not allow criminals to rule their lives nor will they heed to threats. The best solution is to return to Mexico where you all can set rules of law because you will not locate that type of treatments here in the U.S.
When you aid and support criminals, you live a criminal life style yourself:

IMO, Churches feed illegal immigration and are part of the problem.
When churches condone illegal immigration, they set a bad example to their own law-abiding members. Might as well open up the jails and let everybody out if laws mean nothing.
