Ledger Live: What happens when the ice cream man is an illegal immigrant?
VIDEO REPORT AT THE LINK...
While the state of Arizona has sparked a national firestorm over its tough new immigration law, the City of Newark has quietly turned up the heat on another group of unauthorized foreigners: pushcart ice cream vendors.
Scores of vendors who sell shaved ice or "coco helado" have been denied license renewals by city officials demanding they provide social security numbers or proof of legal U.S. residency, vendors and city officials told Ledger Live, the Star-Ledger's video webcast.

There used to be a lot of Mexican people in my neighborhood. One summer afternoon, two women with Mayan hairstyles were going around pulling a little wagon, brightly painted. They were selling tamales door to door. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to call the city, I just said, uh, no thanks. And we still have those big silver lunchwagons (loncherias) all over.

As a Libertarian-type guy... having to "register" a cart doesn't exactly appeal to me.
HOWEVER, since there is a LAW on the books... ENFORCE IT !!!
Enforce it equally. And enforce it fairly.
But ENFORCE IT !
If you don't like it, fight like hell to change it. But until then.. obey it.Just because you're used to something doesn't make it right.

First I am against any IA selling on the streets of the USA.
Secondly I think cart food vendors are very damaging to restraunt owners who pay Big Bucks to have their establishments while street vendors take away their business and some pay NO TAXES,Insurance etc.."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson

Isn't it ironic how politicians think it is OK for illegal aliens to work without getting a work permit. However, LEGAL aliens have to get one. Kind of a kick in the butt for those who come here legally and follow our laws. Hey, do you honestly think this woman in the video was paying New Jersey city, state and federal taxes on he income?
