UT's S.B. 251 requires employers to verify status
Utah's New immigration law goes into effect Jul 1, 2010 and bleeding hearts, talk show host (Dough Wright) and others behind churches and pro-illegal groups are up in arms with bleeding heart stories, disputing statistics, criticizing e-Verify's effectiveness, implying that enforcing the law is cruel and that the current laws in the books are archaic and need revising. I suspect that they will try to make Mormons feel guilty about wanting to have immigration laws enforced and implying that going by their own core beliefs of sustaining the law of the land is somewhat "UN-Christian"
Yet, look at the opinion of most Utahns:
"Questions raised about Utah's new immigration law
Utah's newest immigration law doesn't officially go on the books until Thursday, and already it's receiving reviews that are tepid at best from both sides of the immigration debate. S.B. 251 requires employers to verify the immigration status of new hires."

The majority of Utahns want illegals gone but there are groups of bleeding hearts who want to say that any law that punishes illegals is unfair and inhumane.
