I am reading an article in the Washington Post written by the all-wise and all-knowing Senator Arlen Specter. He says that there has been too mush legislative effort in comprehensive immigration reform ( code words for amnesty to the politically correct) to not try again. I have a better solution Senator Specter, how about a little legislative effort devoted to ENFORCING OUR LAWS instead? You know, that little thing that is supposed to happen when someone breaks the law? Like they get arrested and charged with committing a crime? Do you remember when we used to do that in America?
The next paragraph say that we should implement the provisions already enacted for border security and employer enforcement and crack down on them for knowingly employing illegal aliens. Well, Senator, I have a heck of a better suggestion to implement. How about ENFORCING THE LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS! This hasn't been tried very much lately (like in the last 21 years). Wouldn't you say this is a much, much better approach Senator?
And next, get prepared people, brace yourselves now, his narrow and fresh approach to solving our illegal alien crisis is, come on, take a guess? Right, you got it, the wise and all-knowing Senator's answer to the problem? Amnesty! Yeah! That is certainly the freshest approach I have heard in how long has it been now? Two weeks? Three weeks maybe? To tell you the truth I think the narrowest and freshest approach the American people can do is to vote his sorry behind ,and all the bums like him, completely out of politics forever. That would go a long way towards solving this country's problems.
Just imagine a government of the people, for the people and by the people. Imagine a justice system that favors no one and treats everyone the same. Imagine a legal system that enforces all the laws fairly. Boy, that sounds like a place that I used to know. It was called AMERICA. But wait, this is America. But, if this is American then what the hell is going on? If this is America why aren't our laws being enforced? If this is America why are certain classes of people being treated different than others?
In my last article I wrote about the Statue of Liberty standing in New York harbor. What I didn't mention is that she now has tears in her eyes. Tears for the way her leaders are tearing away the foundations of our great country. Tears for the way that most of her citizens are being treated as second class. Tears for the way her justice system is being manipulated by some for the benefit of a few. And tears for the way her citizens are allowing these things to happen without protest.
It is time to get angry fellow Americans, it is time to get out of your homes, into the streets and start setting things right again. It is past time to get rid of all the bums who are profaning this great nation and to make her that shining beacon once again. It is time to take back our country! Terry Funderburk
