What is it that these clowns do not understand?
I am reading an article in the Washington Post written by the all-wise and all-knowing Senator Arlen Specter. He says that there has been too mush legislative effort in comprehensive immigration reform ( code words for amnesty to the politically correct) to not try again. I have a better solution Senator Specter, how about a little legislative effort devoted to ENFORCING OUR LAWS instead? You know, that little thing that is supposed to happen when someone breaks the law? Like they get arrested and charged with committing a crime? Do you remember when we used to do that in America?
The next paragraph say that we should implement the provisions already enacted for border security and employer enforcement and crack down on them for knowingly employing illegal aliens. Well, Senator, I have a heck of a better suggestion to implement. How about ENFORCING THE LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS! This hasn't been tried very much lately (like in the last 21 years). Wouldn't you say this is a much, much better approach Senator?
And next, get prepared people, brace yourselves now, his narrow and fresh approach to solving our illegal alien crisis is, come on, take a guess? Right, you got it, the wise and all-knowing Senator's answer to the problem? Amnesty! Yeah! That is certainly the freshest approach I have heard in how long has it been now? Two weeks? Three weeks maybe? To tell you the truth I think the narrowest and freshest approach the American people can do is to vote his sorry behind ,and all the bums like him, completely out of politics forever. That would go a long way towards solving this country's problems.
Just imagine a government of the people, for the people and by the people. Imagine a justice system that favors no one and treats everyone the same. Imagine a legal system that enforces all the laws fairly. Boy, that sounds like a place that I used to know. It was called AMERICA. But wait, this is America. But, if this is American then what the hell is going on? If this is America why aren't our laws being enforced? If this is America why are certain classes of people being treated different than others?
In my last article I wrote about the Statue of Liberty standing in New York harbor. What I didn't mention is that she now has tears in her eyes. Tears for the way her leaders are tearing away the foundations of our great country. Tears for the way that most of her citizens are being treated as second class. Tears for the way her justice system is being manipulated by some for the benefit of a few. And tears for the way her citizens are allowing these things to happen without protest.
It is time to get angry fellow Americans, it is time to get out of your homes, into the streets and start setting things right again. It is past time to get rid of all the bums who are profaning this great nation and to make her that shining beacon once again. It is time to take back our country! Terry Funderburk

It is hard to understand the position of Specter, et al. He admits that he has heard the American people say loud and clear that the only acceptable remedy for the illegal immigration issue is enforcement of the border and deportation. That he doesn't act on that overwhelming message is to me an indication that his first priority is not the people he represents. So who is his master?

His master is money, greed, big money corporations, the bottom line.
Never give up! Never surrender! Never compromise your values!*

A Less Ambitious Approach to Immigration
By Arlen Specter
Monday, August 6, 2007; Page A17
The charge of amnesty defeated comprehensive immigration reform in the Senate this summer. It is too important, and there has been too much legislative investment, not to try again. The time to do so is now.
Certainly the government should implement the provisions it has already enacted to improve border security and crack down on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. But the important additions on those subjects contained in the bill defeated in June will not be enacted without also dealing with the 12 million-plus undocumented immigrants and the guest worker program.
So let's take a fresh look and try a narrower approach.
There is a consensus in Congress on most objectives and many remedies for immigration reform: more border patrols, additional fencing, drones and some form of a guest worker program. Modern technological advances provide foolproof identification so employers can -- justifiably -- be severely sanctioned if they don't verify IDs and act to eliminate the magnet attracting illegals to penetrate the border. Yet Congress is unlikely to appropriate $3 billion for border security without dealing simultaneously with the illegal immigrants already here.
The main objective in legalizing the 12 million was to eliminate their fugitive status, allowing them to live in the United States without fear of being detected and deported or being abused by unscrupulous employers. We should consider a revised status for those 12 million people. Let them hold the status of those with green cards -- without the automatic path to citizenship that was the core component of critics' argument that reform efforts were really amnesty. Give these people the company of their spouses and minor children and consider other indicators of citizenship short of the right to vote (which was always the dealbreaker).
This approach may be attacked as creating an "underclass" inconsistent with American values, which have always been to give refuge to the "huddled masses." But such a compromise is clearly better than leaving these people a fugitive class. People with a lesser status are frequently referred to as second-class citizens. Congress has adamantly refused to make the 12 million people already here full citizens, but isn't it better for them to at least be secure aliens than hunted and exploited?
Giving these people green-card status leaves open the opportunity for them to return to their native lands and seek citizenship through regular channels. Or, after our borders are secured and tough employer sanctions have been put in place, Congress can revisit the issue and possibly find a more hospitable America.
Some of the other refinements of the defeated bill can await another day and the regular process of Judiciary Committee hearings and markups. Changing the law on family unification with a point system can also be considered later. Now, perhaps, we could add green cards for highly skilled workers and tinker at the edges of immigration law, providing we don't get bogged down in endless debate and defeated cloture motions.
It would be refreshing if Congress, and the country, could come together in a bipartisan way to at least partially solve one of the big domestic issues of the day.

Arlen Specter keeps running his mouth, continually showing his ignorance.
In defeating the comprehensive plan in June, the American people DID come together in a BIPARTISAN WAY. Democratic and republican citizens BOTH objected to the plan.

email sent to Specter.....
Sen Specter:
You are 77 years old, and it is becoming more obvious everyday, that something is critically wrong with your brain!
Your new push for illegal aliens is disgusting. Give it up! WE DON'T WANT THEM. THEY ARE LAW-BREAKERS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. From sneaking into the country, to stealing ID's, to taking jobs, which is against the law, etc.etc.etc. This doesn't even touch on the fact that they have no family values! And THAT is an area where there is PLENTY of proof!
We are getting tired of hearing how they "pick our fruits and veggies," when only 2% of them work in the fields.
We are tired of hearing about the rapes, murders, gangs, sexual molestations of children, DUI's/manslaughter cases, and MORE.....EVERY DAY!

What part of WE DO NOT WANT THE ILLEGALS HERE DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?????????
SECURE THE BORDER.
ENFORCE LAWS AGAINST HIRING ILLEGALS.
CUT OFF THE PUBLIC DOLE.
Millions will go back where they came from if the taxpayers are not forced to support them. It's called ATTRITION.
AND STOP THE ANCHOR BABIES.
ABOVE ALL, PLEASE ANNOUNCE YOUR RETIREMENT. You are a disgrace to the citizens of Pennsylvania.

Spector was on Lou Dobbs last night and said Congress presently lacks the energy to once again tackle comprehensive immigration reform. Consequently, he's not introducing legislation, but merely talking about his latest approach with other Senators.
He's back in PA, making the rounds and visiying some county fairs. In regards to immigration, he commented that he has learned a lot doing this.
I suspect a great many people have told him they want enforcement, not amnesty. I don't think he understands this yet.

Welcome Nihil and Loneprotestor!
Specter can't understand the other side because he, like many of the other democratic fools in Congress, seem to think that they will win all those "once illegal" votes. Either that or he has been bought out by corporate greed. If you remember from last year, Specter acted just like mclamebrain mccain, (a spoiled brat) when the opposition rose against S. 2611.
For too long these jackasses think they are elected to represent their own interests. They forget they are elected to represent AMERICA'S interest, which is driven of, for and by the people. THE LEGAL PEOPLE!"Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same results is the definition of insanity. " Albert Einstein.

Yes, some Republicans voted our way in the last skirmish, but believe me, they have had ample time up there to speak out, scream it from the rooftops, write books, go on TV, - yet they have done nothing. Our very own TExas senators have sung the pro-illegal lullaby for years in the past.
If it was your state being destroyed, mucked up, taken away, would you wait years to do something? I think not.
This is a bi-partisan travesty and if we don't realize that - we are toast.
Believing there is a difference on the parties, other than rhetoric, is what has held us back and allowed this to happen.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
