Maybe if they crossed the border illegally and promised to vote Democrat, our veterans would be getting better treatment.

VA Employees Pulled From Their Jobs to Process OBAMACARE for ILLEGALS

in News, Politics, Videos / by Sean Brown / on July 3, 2014 at 6:15 pm /

A whistleblower from Veteran’s Affairs will testify before Congress on Tuesday regarding the widespread destruction of applications, how the agency has retaliated against whistleblowers, and the shocking revelation that VA employees were pulled from their jobs processing applications for veterans so that they could process Obamacare applications last summer.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Scott Davis is a program specialist at the VA’s national Health Eligibility Center in DeKalb County, Georgia, and he made the bombshell revelation that VA applications were getting put on the back burner so that the Obama administration could work on hyping their enrollment numbers for Obamacare. From what Davis said, more than 10,000 veterans may have been improperly purged from the Health Eligibility Center’s national data system, which he says is linked to managers focusing on meeting their Obamacare goals so they could get their bonuses rather than processing applications for veterans in need.
Davis explained that “we don’t discuss veterans. We do not work for veterans.” Their customers are the White House and the VA central office, which he learned after being there for some time.
“The veterans are not our priority,” he said. They focus on the “big ticket items” coming from Washington, like Obamacare enrollment, rather than doing what their office was created for and assisting our nation’s heroes.
When he appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto, Davis went even further and said that 17,000 applications for VA healthcare had been destroyed, and there’s a backlog of over 600,000 pending applications that are being investigated which were purged in order to deal with the pressure from the Obama Administration.
Davis explained that their office is set up to process whatever applications are required of them, and they’re required to ensure at least 80% of them are completed within five days. When the White House demanded they meet their performance goals for Obamacare applications, that’s when VA applications started getting shuffled to the side.
“There’s an acceptable percentage that we have to have, which is in excess of 80% for all applications that comes into that office. What you find is that there’s extensive pressure on the staff to process applications, to focus our attention to applications based on specific campaigns. For example, I shared with your producer that we actually put incoming applications aside so we could focus on the ACA related applications that came in over last summer. That’s wrong. We should treat each veteran equally and focus on applications, as they come in, not because of special campaigns coming out of D.C.”
It’s no wonder why there’s been massive waiting lists and veterans who can’t get access to the healthcare that was promised. The Obama administration was far too concerned with their enrollment projections being accurate for Obamacare to fulfill the promises made to these brave men and women.
What’s worse is now it’s being reported that nearly 1.3 million of the 8 million enrollees in Obamacare might not even be American citizens. Not only did our vets get screwed so Obama could make his horrible law – and himself – look good, they were tossed to the side so over a million illegals could get healthcare they have absolutely no right to have.
It’s reprehensible to create a situation where our vets couldn’t get access to the healthcare they were promised – and without question earned every last bit of – so that the Administration could give the appearance that the widely disliked Affordable Care Act was more popular than it actually was. This provides a very clear picture of how this administration regards our veterans; disposable.
Maybe if they crossed the border illegally and promised to vote Democrat, our veterans would be getting better treatment.

Whistleblower Alleges VA Purged More Than 10K Benefit Applications

    by Fox News Insider // Jul 01 2014 // 5:48pm
As seen on Your World with Neil Cavuto

A whistleblower is coming forward with allegations that the VA purged more than 10,000 veteran applications for benefits.

    The Associated Press reported:
Federal investigators are probing a whistleblower's claims that applications for veterans seeking health care benefits may have been improperly purged from the VA's Health Eligibility Center in suburban Atlanta.
Eligibility Center program specialist Scott Davis tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution health benefit applications for more than 10,000 veterans may have been improperly purged from the Health Eligibility Center's national data system in DeKalb County.
Davis began filing complaints in January and said managers were focused on meeting goals linked to the Affordable Care Act to meet their bonus targets. He also asked the VA office of the Inspector General to investigate potential fraud involving government contracts.
Local VA spokeswoman Floretta Hardmon says the organization takes the allegations seriously and officials are cooperating with investigators.
Today on Your World, Judge Andrew Napolitano said it appears that this was “the willful destruction of evidence” that the government is required by law to preserve for 10 to 20 years.
“This is a criminal act if it’s accurate and if it’s provable,” he said of the whistleblower’s charges against the government.
Judge Napolitano said that until an independent prosecutor with power to indict investigates the VA, “we will never know what the truth is.”

TUNE IN: The VA whistleblower joins ‘Your World’ tomorrow at 4p ET.

Vet Dies At VA After Waiting 30 Minutes For Ambulance

    3:43 PM 07/03/2014
    Chuck Ross
    Reporter

A veteran died after a 30 minute wait for an ambulance outside of a VA facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The man collapsed on Monday inside the hospital’s cafeteria, which is located 500 yards away from an emergency room hospital in another building, according to the Associated Press.

VA spokeswoman Sonja Brown told the AP that CPR was performed on the veteran.

“Our policy is under expedited review,” said Brown on Thursday, adding that personnel followed policy by calling 911 after the man collapsed.

Emergency medical services departments are generally held to an ambulance response time of eight minutes for 90 percent of the calls it receives. It is unclear whether the VA holds the ambulatory services it uses to the same standard.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has been rocked by scandal after system-wide delays in veteran care were discovered. Dozens of hospitals have been found cooking the books by placing veterans on secret waiting lists and delaying the amount of time that veterans are able to receive primary care. Approximately 40 veterans’ deaths at the Phoenix VA were blamed on the practice.

By placing the veterans on secret waiting lists, hospitals are able to appear to be meeting standards mandated by VA policy. Often, the bonuses for individual hospitals administrators are tied to the amount of time veterans remain on the lists.

After Months Of Waiting For Obamacare Coverage, Las Vegas Woman Dies From Brain Tumor

124 Shares By Caroline Schaeffer 11 hours ago

A Las Vegas woman who was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year has passed away, after desperately trying to enroll in Nevada’s Obamacare exchange and waiting months for coverage.
Linda Rolain could not afford insurance on the private market, and she was suffering from a life-threatening illness, making her a prime candidate for Obamacare.
Her husband Robert tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he and his wife had tried enrolling in the state’s exchange when it was rolled out, and immediately ran into problems.
Rolain’s husband, Robert, said the couple began trying to sign up in November, well ahead of the Dec. 15 deadline for January coverage. After wrestling with repeated sign-up problems, the Rolains bought a plan that took effect in March.

But they said [Nevada Health Link contractor Xerox's] staffers miscommunicated the policy’s effective date, so they didn’t know until May that they had coverage.
She finally underwent brain surgery in May, struggling through her recovery. In the meantime, the Rolains went public about Xerox’s mishandling of Linda’s coverage, and joined a class-action lawsuit against the company.
Robert says that if Obamacare had worked earlier for her, she might still be alive today, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
“I want the people of Nevada to know that they might have got rid of the cancer with a little chemo and radiation,” Robert Rolain said in an interview last week.
Linda Rolain was admitted to hospice care in early June and passed away on June 30. She was 64.
