    Man gets 13 months in prison for hiring illegal immigrants

    March 18, 2008

    NORFOLK

    The last of three family members who ran a company that employed illegal immigrants was sentenced today to 13 months in federal prison.

    Robert Buttery Jr. was sentenced in federal court after pleading guilty to hiring, housing and transporting the illegal workers last year during a Verizon project laying new cable.

    Buttery’s mother, Betty Jean Buttery, was sentenced last week to 14 months in prison for her role in the conspiracy. His father, Robert Buttery Sr., also received a 14-month prison term.

    The Butterys, of Fauquier County, operated B&B Cable, a Verizon subcontractor hired to dig ditches for its new fiber optic cable line. They were caught after a state trooper last summer stopped a van carrying 14 illegal immigrants employed by the Butterys.

    Think of the poor guy who had to compete against this scum bag who was able to submit unusually low bids because he was using illegal invader labor.

    This is a perfect example of how illegal invaders take away jobs from American Citizens!
