Thread: VA:Spotsylvania wants legal immigrants' input about immigrat

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (AP) - Spotsylvania County officials want to involve legal immigrants in the discussion over illegal immigration.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Chris Yakabouski says he's reaching out to county residents for help in dealing with the contentious issue. He says he thinks Spotsylvania's legal Hispanic and Asian residents will join together because illegal immigration drains the county's tax dollars.

Spotsylvania officials are considering tightening housing measures because of some residents' complaints about overcrowding in homes and too many cars parked on lawns and narrow streets.

The board plans to do more research on the issue and see how other counties are handling illegal immigration.

They just interviewed that Chairman on Lou Dobbs tonight. He was well spoken and explained how this is not a race issue.

They need to interview some of the naturalized citizens from "You Don't Speak For Me." That would be great if they could go in like ALIPAC did in Waukegan.

The gentleman on the show that said race has nothing to do with the illegal issue-his parents legally immigrated here from Columbia.So the race card shouldn't be brought out.Not that they won't try.
