    Chicago-Let this soldier’s wife stay in U.S.

Let this soldier’s wife stay in U.S.

I doubt that President Barack Obama — or, for that matter, any other Democrat or Republican public official — has the guts to look in the eyes of a U.S. soldier who has served in Kuwait and tell him that his wife will be deported and his family separated.

But this is what could happen to Rosa, wife of Army Spec. Hector Nunez, when her humanitarian visa expires on Dec. 19. A family lawyer is weighing whether she should now seek a permanent visa or a one-year extension of the temporary permit, but I’d like to suggest that the feds step in and end this uncertainty now — simply let Rosa stay.

Rosa grew up and went to school in Chicago, has never committed a crime and married a soldier who was willing to die for our country.

Wouldn't matter where Rosa lived, since her husband is deployed for months/years at a time no? He can visit her in mexico when he returns. Tired to the death with all these SOB stories. Enforce the laws equally with ALL illegal aliens!!

From the story it looks like she has entered the country illegally more than once and is a repeat offender.

Having been an officer in the military, it was always emphasized that our careers depended on keeping clean and obeying ALL laws, not only ourselves but our families as well. Misbehaving children living on base will derail a career immediately.

He knew she was illegal when they married - how did she have ID, etc., to obtain a marriage license? Drivers license? This should be a deal breaker for him to remain in the military. Period.

Dishonorable discharge and ship her out.
