    But Word said some withheld information on gangs out of concern that it could alarm the public.


    "A lot of this (reluctance to cooperate) is coming from elected officials who are saying, 'We don't want to get our citizens running scared,' " Word said.
    By all means, don't let the public know what's going on around them.

    They might get mad and demand that something be done, and that would be bad for business.
    It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.
