Speech slated for ex-president

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is scheduled to speak in Evansville as part of the 2008 International Speaker Series sponsored by the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana at the University of Evansville.

His address will begin at 7 p.m. April 10 at The Victory. He also will speak to UE students at 4 p.m. in the Smythe Lecture Hall of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Building. Earlier in the day, Fox will speak at an institute-sponsored luncheon in Indianapolis. He also is scheduled to speak in Indianapolis.

Fox served as president of Mexico from 2000 to 2006. His election ended the 71-year rule of the Institutional Revolutionary Party and ushered in what many viewed as a new era of democracy and economic revitalization in the country.
