Tom Tancredo went on Neil Cavuto's show on Fox News and explained why he won't be participating in a Spanish language presidential debate.

Tom hits it right on the head when he brings up the fact that to become a US citizen you must speak and read English. In other words every US citizen is required to know and understand English. This leads into the fact that only citizens can vote. Which of course leads back to the logical conclusion that if you can vote then you are a citizen which means you speak English.

Bravo for Tom Tancredo for putting his principles and beliefs before pandering for votes like the other candidates are doing. Which country are the other candidates running for President of?

Go Get'em Tom... I am discipointed that most of the candidates in the GOP are going... pandering to the Illegal Aliens is not sitting pretty to me

It'll be interesting to see what they have to say to Hispanic voters. Will they flip like Hillary? I won't be watching the debate because I agree with Tancredo, but I'll be reading about it in the news!

Tancredo really gets it. He has firm beliefs and principles and refuses to pander to anyone that would compromise those beliefs, even if it would be deleterious to his need for votes and support. Tom Tancredo is no politician but Tom Tancredo is a patriot and a Great American. That is probably why he is leaving Congress next year.

Immigration
There is no doubt that America is facing an illegal immigration crisis. Currently, there are at least 12 million
illegal aliens living in America. I am absolutely opposed to amnesty. In addition to rewarding those who
broke our laws, amnesties simply do not solve the problem of illegal immigration. The only realistic solution
to the problem of illegal immigration is a strategy of attrition, which seeks to reduce the flow of the illegal
alien population over time by cutting off the incentives for coming to and staying in America - most
importantly by eliminating the jobs magnet. America must also reexamine its legal immigration policies.
Since 1990, that number has been roughly one million yearly - and that doesn't count illegal aliens. America
should reduce legal immigration to 250,000 people a year, which will allow the newcomers to assimilate.
