Mexican drug cartels called biggest crime threat to U.S.

WASHINGTON — A top Homeland Security official told a House panel today that Mexican drug cartels are the biggest organized crime threat to the United States.

Homeland Security official Roger Rufe said a department plan to respond to escalating violence on the Southwest border includes— as a last resort — deploying military personnel and equipment to the region if homeland security agencies become overwhelmed.

Rufe, echoing comments a day earlier from President Barack Obama, said now is not the time to militarize the Southwest border.

Alonzo Pena said the violence is in isolated areas of the country and only affects the people involved in criminal activity. He said the violence is not affecting U.S. citizens visiting Mexico and Americans should not cancel their vacations in the country.
Too much good cocaine, Mr. Pena? Well, the isolated areas of the country are all along the US-Mex border on both sides. And since the Mex gov't does not have any control against the cartels or stopping the violence, this is about as accurate as me declaring definitively the 1,462 illegals crossed into the US at 5:13 pm through all the miles of unprotected border and desert or came through tunnels.
Forget watching shoot-outs on TV. Go to Mexico and experience the real thing.

By all means, let's just wait until more Americans get killed. No sense in hurrying, you jerk!
