    Voting in the Primaries

Am I correct that as long as you are a registered voter, you can choose which primary (Democratic or Republican) to vote in? I'm Independent, and wanted to make sure.

You can NOT vote in a primary election, as an registered independent, UNLESS there is an independent candidate in the running. Unfair, but fact. I changed my party from independent to republican in order to vote in the last primary.

it depends on the state. Each state has different rules for allowing someone to vote in their primaries. My state doesn't ask political affiliation, when voting in it's primaries.
