Aberdeen man, 21, held for rape of 13-year-old

A 21-year-old Aberdeen man from El Salvador, was arrested on Friday for second-degree rape of a child after he allegedly lured a 13-year-old Aberdeen girl into a van and raped her the week before, according to Hoquiam police.

The victim told police officers she met the man about a month before the rape took place. According to police officers, she said she snuck out of her home to meet the man at the Aberdeen Radio Shack on Feb. 24, where the two walked around until he found an unlocked van. The two entered the van, and police say that is where the rape occurred.

The victim went to the police and gave officers his cell phone number. Hoquiam police officers subpoenaed the telephone records, and identified a suspect.

The victim was able to identify the suspect in a photo array, and “based on statements from the victim, the identification and an admission from the suspect that he had sex with the girl, the man was arrested,” said Deputy Chief Jim Maloney.

He is being held on $100,000 bail, according to Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers. He also said the man was considered a flight risk and is being investigated as an undocumented alien.

The investigation is ongoing, but Maloney said the victim claims the intercourse was forced, while the suspect claims it was consensual.

I grew up in Westport about 20 miles from Aberdeen. It’s to bad that another nice area of this country has felt the touch of illegal immigration.

It must be their"culture".
