Immigration 'Tea Parties' Held In Denver, Durango
DENVER (CBS4/AP) ―
People who oppose planned legislation to overhaul the nation's immigration system are protesting around the country with "tea parties."
Denver and Durango were among the 50 cities where the protests were held Saturday as part of a movement called Tea Parties Against Amnesty & Illegal Immigration.
The protesters are voicing opposition to plans by Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez to introduce what the group is calling "amnesty legislation" by the end of November.
"We're just here to say, 'No,'" protester Rhonda Roseto said. "We have 17 percent unemployment. We don't need to reward people that are here illegally."
"I think any immigration system that's set up the way ours is currently set up is anti-liberty," said Elliott Fladen, who supports illegal immigration reform. "And for that reason, I stand against those who are here today."
Protesters met on the west steps of the state Capitol in Denver at 10 a.m. and in Durango at Santa Rita Park at 1 p.m.

Colorado Anti-amnesty
The problem is that while we are protesting amnesty in Colorado we have two of the most liberal (read pro-Obama) Senators in the U.S. Senate if we really want to stop the hi-jacking of our Constitutional rights and want the immigration laws to be enforced then we need to get them out of office. We the people of Colorado need to take back our control of this state and of this nation do a complete change of Congress as Mark Twain said " Congress and diapers both need to be changed often and both for the same reason." It is time for a change service to this great nation was never met to be a career but an opportunity to serve the people for a little while then go back to being part of the people not a tyrant over them. A true Conservative that earned the right to be here by blood stilt on the field.

One thing about the bad economy, is more people who fall on hard times start to look at the reasons why, where they tend to sheepishly go along when times are good.
