War on Women: Illegal alien serial rapist sentenced to prison in Louisiana

On Monday, Victor Ivan Perez Gonzalez, 34, pleaded guilty to rape, second-degree kidnapping and sexual battery in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court for an attack that took place in the French Quarter in 2007.

The Nicaraguan national was actually already in prison for the rape of two Tulane University students in 2008.

The Times-Picayune reported:

Police said on Sept. 15, 2007, Perez snuck up on the woman as she was walking through the security gate of a home in the 600 block of Ursulines Avenue. The woman reported the attack and underwent a rape examination. She told police the man who attacked her was a stranger.

A year after that attack, Perez raped two women ages 18 and 19, on the campus of Tulane University in separate attacks, less than a month apart.

Witnesses who came to the aid of one of the victims were able to record the suspect's license plate number as he fled the scene.

On Sept. 13, 2010, Perez pleaded guilty to two counts of forcible rape and one count of second-degree kidnapping, and was sentenced to 45 years in prison for those two rapes.

Orleans Parish Judge Keva Landrum-Johnson sentenced Perez to 45 years in prison. That sentence will run concurrently with his previous sentence.

Louisiana has 'truth in sentencing' laws for sex crimes, and as such, Perez will serve "every day of the 45 years," according to Christopher Bowman, a spokesman for the Orleans Parish District Attorney.

Perez had been living in New Orleans and working as a house painter for the last several years.

Unfortunately, many contractors have used foreign nationals rather than U.S. workers to help rebuild the city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
