Well the town is located next to Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, so they don't have very far to travel. If we could only get the Marines to run the illegals back across the border. Thanks for the links to the photos.

Thanks for the welcome! I've been reading ALIPAC forums for a couple of weeks and had to respond to Brian about the protest. I didn't talk to the lady in the article. We were all so spread out that she must have been down the street with my colleagues arguing with them. I wasn't even aware counter protesters were gathering until I saw the photos!
Brian, your town felt so welcoming to us. From the passersby, we got mostly thumbs ups as they drove by. Quite a few residents stopped to speak with us to thank us. They expressed concern about how the town will be adversely affected by illegal immigration, a concern we all share. I really liked what I saw of Fallbrook. The small town feel, the downtown area with antique shops and art galleries. I'd love to go back just to browse all the shops. Looks like the type of place I could retire to.
We'll be back!

Brian
Due to recent violent acts, these protestors wanted to keep a low profile. Otherwise, we would have plugged it at Save Our State and the like. One of the drawbacks though is that people like you who would be interested in going didnt hear about it ahead of time.
Many of those folks have been to SOS rallies in the past.

JosephT,
Feel free to send a message to Joseph Turner about the planned rally, and ask him NOT to post it in the open, for all the trolls to see, just PM it to known, reliable team members.
Occutegirl could do the same herself.

Protest fans racial tension

Deliberately fanning racial tension in an already trouble-plagued time may not bode well for the future of this multicultural town known in the past as the Friendly Village. An organized protest in the 800 block of South Main Avenue on Saturday, June 4, quickly escalated into a verbal war between two groups of demonstrators on opposite sides of the street. Several of the protesters were identified with the controversial ‘Minuteman’ group, known as a citizen’s organization that patrols the borders on their own and have been labeled ‘vigilantes’ by some. Some of the protestors were from out of town and several had varying agendas. One of the protesters said he was adamant about ‘closing the borders,’ and another held a sign that read, “Hiring Illegal Aliens is Illegal and Un-American. A man who identified himself as ‘Stew’ said that all he wanted to do was make the public aware of the fact that a local bank is accepting the Matricula Consular ID card (an identification card issued by the Mexican government to Mexicans living in the United States which some say is easily counterfeited). One Minuteman demonstrator complained there were too many sheriffs’ deputies on site near the protest. Several of the deputies were found in the vicinity of the bank. The demonstrator, ‘Stew,’ called it a ‘peaceful demonstration;’ however, the ‘peaceful demonstration’ was not well received by some and stirred emotions in the Mexican-American community, spawning a counter-demonstration with Mexican flags and signs in English and Spanish. One sign read, “You can’t live with us and you can’t live without us. Some Hispanics shouted to the Minutemen, “Go pick your own avocados! As the protest continued, the Hispanic group grew in number, but appeared to display considerable self-control. Many of the ‘Mexican’ or ‘Mexican-American’ demonstrators were carrying the Mexican flag and calling for unity amongst their ranks. The Hispanic demonstrators were a mixed group of mothers, children, seniors and young men and women. Their main focus seemed to be solidarity. The noise level escalated when young men on both sides started shouting back and forth while others in vehicles honked horns and shouted as they drove past the demonstration. One Hispanic man spun his truck’s tires and screeched off. He was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Oh man, that is precious ! "You cant live with us, and you cant live without us!"
That is the best one yet! So simple, but yet I know I for one would have never thought of that in a million years.
