West Virginia's First Election-by-Mail Getting Under Way

W.Va.'s first election-by-mail getting under way.

    Statehouse News

    Friday April 8, 2011

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - For the first time in West Virginia, election ballots are in the mail.

The city of Morgantown is pilot-testing the state's first vote-by-mail program with its municipal elections this month.

The Dominion Post says voters can expect to start receiving ballots as soon as Saturday.

City Clerk Linda Little says everyone will have them by Tuesday

The city hired Morgantown Printing and Binding to print the ballots, and city and state elections officials oversaw the process.

Little says it's important that citizens know their ballots were handled properly.

The packets include an instruction sheet, a ballot and two envelopes - one to protect the voter's identity and one to return the ballot.

I hope illegal immigrants do not fraud voting in West Virginia via mail in ballots.
