    What Happened to Immigration?

    What Happened to Immigration?
Reports of the issue’s demise are greatly exaggerated
    Mark Krikorian

Now that Amnesty John appears to have the Republican nomination sewn up, the pro-McCain commentariat is seeking to rewrite the lessons of last summer’s epic battle over immigration in the Senate. That unprecedented outpouring of popular outrage, which stopped cold the combined force of all of America’s elite institutions, clearly demonstrated the arrival of immigration as a potent political issue.

With the recent primary victories of Ted Kennedy’s amnesty co-conspirator, supporters of the McCain approach are crowing that last summer’s humiliating defeat was just a flash in the pan, driven by noisy troublemakers who can now safely be ignored. Jennifer Rubin at Contentions claims that immigration “has had a perfect record of irrelevance,â€

We must speak loudly that not only will we not vote for mccain we will work against him unless he signs Sessions pledge and another pledge that any 'path to citizenship' bill will not be signed by him.

McCain can only get my vote if he 1) immediately and publicly disassociates himself from Juan Hernandez and any other shill for the Mexican government , La RAZA or the Institute for MExicans Abroad , 2) immediately while still a Senator takes action to secure the borders NOW; 3) signs NumbersUSA pledge like Huckabee and Paul have to NEVER promote amnesty in any form to illegal aliens.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. For anyone who thinks immigration is dead, just look at the hundreds of bills being introduced and passed at the state level. Illegals are scared and are leaving in droves. Just because McCain looks like the Republican nominee, it doesn't mean that instantly everything has changed. They just want us to believe it has.

They shouldn't be too over confident. Just 6 short months ago, Americans did the impossible. We shut down the amnesty bill twice and the dream act. Nothing has happened since then that would make millions upon millions of Americans change their mind. The anger and outrage is still there and it is only going to get worse.

La Raza and the rest are kidding themselves that immigration is dead. Maybe it's a good thing. They'll let their guard down and we'll pounce! Pay attention to what the states are doing. That is a good indicator of how Americans feel about immigration.
