I don't agree with the agreement, but I do understand the tough position it puts President Trump in. Even though the deal was made under the Obama administration, it was made on behalf of the United States. Like I said, I don't agree with it, but I can see how it puts Trump in a pickle.

It's a binding agreement. Agreements don't end just because we change Presidents. Trump will have the right to challenge it and enforce it, depending on the terms, if they breach it.

Oh, it's a pickle for sure.

Unless it's an unsigned deal. The TPP was never a signed agreement. Congress refused to pass it. And Trump wants no part of reviving it.

As to NAFTA, the US has the right to withdraw from the agreement any time it wants, but it requires 6 months notice before it terminates to give time for adjustment and phase out as well as the opportunity for the parties to work out their differences and re-negotiate it if there is some legitimate interest in doing so.

According to reports, President Trump and Turnbull had a very disagreeable telephone conversation about the refugees. Worst phone call of the day he said.
