I have read another article about our wonderful administration's disregard, lack of compassion and lack of respect for American citizens coming from a self proclaimed "compassionate conservative" but only if you have a Latino surname. It seems that Bush isn't satisfied when he is unable to find further savings from cutting programs supporting Americans so he can divert the savings to support his Latino brothers and sisters. It wasn't enough for him to divert 58 million dollars from medicare/medicaid to fund illegal alien healthcare despite the money originally being earmarked for seniors. It wasn't enough to convene secret panels to find ways of cutting VA spending despite the increasing number of dead and wounded returning from wars overseas only for they and their families to face financial difficulties caused by crippling injuries and having to fight the VA for what breadcrumbs it decides to toss at them. Now he has convened another panel to cut benefits for Cold War-era nuclear weapons workers. Fortunately Senator Barak Obama was able to intervene to stop the administration. This is an administration who chastises congress for runaway spending who says he is focused on reigning in the deficit and will cut what he terms wasteful spending. He has no qualms about supporting an immigration bill which by the unanimous agreement of economists says will result in financial disaster and add trillions of dollars to the deficit. Just another example of the contrasts which characterize this administration.
