Officers Arrest Gang Member Suspected Of Beheading Former In-Laws

(January 30, 2007)--Law enforcement officers in Houston Tuesday announced the arrest of a violent Honduran gang member who is suspected of decapitating his former in-laws.

Albin Adalin Zelaya-Zelaya and five associates were taken into custody Saturday on illegal immigration charges.

Authorities believe Zelaya-Zelaya returned to the US on Friday.

Honduran authorities claim Zelaya-Zelaya killed his ex-wife's parents in Honduras on Christmas Day.

He's also a person of interest in a 2004 bus shooting there that left 37 people dead.

Houston police had a warrant for Zelaya-Zelaya stemming from the September burglary of a motel room with the intent to commit aggravated assault.

The FBI says Zelaya-Zelaya has been linked to the Mara Salvatrucha gang, or MS-13.

Officers claim Zelaya-Zelaya and his associates have kidnapped other illegal immigrants in the Houston area.
