Why not tax money sent to Mexico?
You know billions of untaxed dollars are sent to Mexico every year. Why don't the Government put a manditory tax on the funds being sent back to Mexico? It could help pay for some of the free healthcare they receive here. Obviously if they have enough to send home they should be paying their fair share. Why should the American Taxpayers keep having to pick up the tab? Higher taxs more taxs, and of course new taxs being created for all of us that pay tax's?

The taxes should be levied on the financial institution(s) executing the transfers. They will of course pass the cost on to the customer, but taxing the business will better ensure the taxes are documented and paid on a timely basis. Also, the remitter of the funds does not have to be advised the taxes are even imposed and it simply looks like a transaction fee increase to them.
Of course if we move to a "Fair Tax" system as some propose, that would add another layer of taxes on the transaction as well through a use or consumption tax.

I totally agree. Why should illegal aliens be permitted to remit billions to their countries of origin in addition to earning untaxed wages ? The funds received from the taxed remittances most definitely could be used to defray the cost of some of the freebies they are receiving.
