    Lou Dobbs Tonight
    Monday, November 5, 2007

Please join us at our new time, 7 p.m. Eastern, tonight and
    every weeknight.

Tonight: Chaos in Pakistan. The country that President Bush has
touted as a close ally in the war on terror has declared a
state of emergency. Pakistan’s military president Pervez
Musharraf —who seized power in 1999—has suspended the
Constitution, cut off press freedoms and arrested judges,
    activists and dissidents.

The meltdown in Pakistan is another stain on the Bush
administration’s already poor foreign policy record—especially
when terrorism experts say that Pakistan is among al Qaeda’s
biggest strongholds. We'll bring you all the latest.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is in China this week. He says
he doesn’t consider the Communist country a military threat to
the United States, but China’s defense budget swelled 18
percent this year, and has grown at a similar pace for the last
decade. Tonight, a closer look at the looming storm of Chinese
    military power.

Many country clerks are up for re-election tomorrow in New
York, and Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s plan to give illegal aliens
drivers’ licenses is a key issue in the campaign. That story,
    tonight.

White House and mortgage industry representatives testified
before the Senate Banking Committee last week about the
mortgage crisis that is forcing millions of American families
into foreclosure. We’ll have a special report.

And we’ll be joined by two guests. New York Times bestselling
author Michael Korda will discuss his latest book, "Ike: An
American Hero." And, we'll be talking God and politics with
Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council.

Robert Gates is a Bush talking head. With that said, I don't think the Bush administation wants to risk China's preferred trading status with the U.S. by revealing China as a possible military threat. We're feeding the Chinese military buildup! If there not a threat now, they will be in the years to come.
