Proposed legislation could keep illegal immigrants charged with serious crimes in jail.

State Senator Alan Lasee of the Town of Rockland wants to block courts from setting bond for aliens charged with a serious felony. He's basing the bill on a similar law in Arizona. It would not grant bond

In a statement Lasee says, "It is important that we are able to bring illegal criminals to justice before they flee back to their homelands."
